A great Bench Workout that really works!!--By Bill Morrison

Click here to skip my story and go to the Workout

Over the years it seems my weight workouts always get interrupted for months, and in one case 2 years, due to a number of reasons, some that couldn't be helped.

Also, throughout my years of (off and on) weight lifting, I've tried just about every workout program that I could find in bodybuilding and powerlifting magazines, and after spending up to 2 hours a day 5 days a week in the gym on some of the programs found my body was going nowhere fast...

After doing a lot of reading into how alot of strongmen competitors and powerlifters were focusing more on the intensity of their training while in the gym for shorter intervals with alot of rest time, I put together my own little system which is probably similar to many others, but I just don't hear of or see many people doing it, and guys that have worked out with me have had great results on this program.

Anyway, due to some health problems, then laziness, I took 2 years off of training and did basically nothing, and wasted away to almost nothing in the meantime. My first time back in the gym I put 275 on the bar(after a good warm-up), and couldn't get it off my chest. Two years before this I was a 400 lb bencher!! I couldn't believe I had lost so much....

Within three months I was benching 375 easily, and my squats and deadlifts(which I had only did about 15 times in my life due mainly to concentrating on upper body for arm wrestling competitions) were up to some respectable numbers. Muscle memory? Maybe. But I think alot of it has to be attributed to my workout.

Give my workout a try for a couple of months, it's short (45 minutes), and really intense, and hopefully you'll make some good gains. A word of caution though, you need a good workout partner or spotter for this workout.

Good Luck!
